Make your own elderberry syrup

As a preventative, take one spoonful once or twice daily. If you feel a cold or the flu coming on, take one spoonful up to four times a day..

1/2 cup dried elderberries

1 cup water

1/2 cup unpasteurized  honey

Combine elderberries and water bring to a boil. Lower heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes, occasionally mashing berries with a fork.Strain into a jar, discarding seeds. Let cool to room temperature, then add honey and stir well. Syrup lasts in the refrigerator up to three weeks.
